26. Disciplining your body is the answer to your sin. Matthew 5:29
a. “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29
i. Contrary to what soft peddling preachers of today may say, Jesus actually does mean that it is better to be without a limb, eye, etc. if that is what it has to be to get your sin under control. The first response of your eye should be to look the other way. Stop looking at breasts, men, start looking at faces and into a woman’s eyes. Stay away from porn shops, magazine racks and homosexual bars that tempt and draw you into sin.
ii. Recognize that your imagination can win over your will power and that strong discipline is the answer. Limit your options to stop your sin. Stopping sin is exactly what Jesus is talking about when he said: “sin no more”.
1. Find a real believer to help you keep yourself honest with God.
2. Get on a 12-step program for any offending member of your body.
iii. It takes a willful act and a series of thought patterns and actions to commit sin. God says that REAL believers who have the spirit of God can overcome sinful temptation. Those who walk the life will testify to God’s truth.
1. “You are of God … and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
2. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” 1 John 5:4
27. WORKS are God’s Evidence of Real Faith and Belief!
a. “He will reward each according to his works.” Matthew 16:27
b. “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:20
c. “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.” Revelations 22:12
28. HELL is real no matter what any man, woman or perverted church doctrine chooses to believe. Matthew 10:28
a. There are no second chances in hell like some Christian sects preach. The message is that even if you get to hell, you will get a second chance down there. Imagine wreaking all the evil havoc you can while on planet earth in the flesh. You die and wind up in hell. Jesus shows up to visit with you and says: “You see, I really do mean it. Now, don’t you want to accept my offer of salvation and join me with God in heaven?” You reply, “Jesus, you mean to tell me all this heaven and hell stuff is for real? Why, of course, I repent Jesus.”
b. One writer even asserts that Hitler is in heaven and if you want to understand God, you have to understand why. If you believe that kind of “second chance” theology, you are already headed on your way towards hell because you now make a mockery of all of God’s Word concerning the godly and ungodly.
