b. Comment: Is God going to forgive you if you do not repent? No. Will he worry about you if you do not repent? I do not think so. Will he forgive you if you repent? Yes. Christians need to operate as God does. Forgiveness is not an option when someone does repent. We simply need to forgive as God forgives us.
i. Forgiveness is not something that can be given out without repentance. The church has long forgotten God’s instructions and it is a major reason we have so many people sinning today. The majority of humanity no longer understands the role of repentance in the cessation of their sin. Has saying I’m sorry now lost its meaning?
ii. “Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance.” Matthew 3:8
35. Be Separated & Holy People
a. “And you shall be holy to Me [God], for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.” Leviticus 20:26
b. “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy”. 1 Peter 1:15
c. “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” Rev 22:11
i. An important aspect of God’s love is His willingness to let you do your own thing on earth even if it is evil and results in your eternal damnation in hell. The gift of free will that God gives us is never to be compromised by some kind of forced theology or a man made “guilt trip”. God requires a willing and sincere heart from you. He wants a love that is true from you. Would you have your earthly spouse be “forced” upon you or do you too also require a willing and sincere heart? A love that is true [willingly and not by force] from your spouse’s heart?
36. Christianity today has been reduced to mythology. One standard message is: “You no longer have to obey God’s commandments. Simply mouth Jesus as your Lord, give 10% of your gross income to the church and you now have it made in God’s eyes. All is forgiven, go and live your life however you want. Even if you wind up in hell, a loving God will give you a second chance down there.” Those who teach or believe these doctrines are servants of Satan and they will never see the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:24, etc.
37. The Current Christian Mythology was Prophesied About
a. “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from truth and turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NIV
b. “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 NIV
